Welcome to The Mindset
Welcome to The Mindset: my blog on optimizing software development.
If this sentence was enough for you to press ALT+D and start typing the address of another site, wait just a minute. This blog is not only for QA people; it is about you and your work. Whether you are a software developer, a tester, a QA person, an architect, a team leader or a manager, you will find this blog useful. Why? Because the quality of your work affects the product you create and the business of the company you work for.
"Here starts the preaching" you might be thinking. Well, kinda. But, the point is, that this is not a theoretical idea from QA textbooks. It is the reality of our business. If you really want to excel and make an impact on the market, you cannot settle for being the first to deliver a product.
You must carefully consider the tradeoffs and balance different forces to come up with an optimal way to create your product: a way that will maximize the product’s value and minimize its development costs for the long run. This is entirely up to you and up to the organization you belong to. This is what quality is all about.
So, back to this humble blog. What can you expect to find here? Well, since quality is affected by every aspect of software development, from gathering the requirements and interacting with your customer, through designing and implementing the product, and up to the managing the project and the entire organization, you can expect to find here insights, thoughts, and ideas about all these things. This is why you will find this blog useful no matter what your role is (even CEOs are invited ;).
You are mostly invited to comment on my postings. I always appreciate a good dialog. I will make my best to respond to your comments.
So here we go….
